George Clooney has had a change in heart about fatherhood.

The 54-year-old actor and his wife, Amal Clooney, are reportedly planning trying to have a child nearly 10 months after walking down the aisle, Us Weekly reports.

"They decided that it would be the right time," a source said. "Amal isn't taking on extra work at the moment and just continuing with the cases she has."

The 37-year-old human rights attorney is said to be focusing instead on welcoming an addition to their family next year in London, where the couple's mansion is currently undergoing a $15 million renovation.

"The building plans include a nursery," another source added. "They hope to have all the work done by Christmas."

Although George Clooney confessed in May that fatherhood "hasn't been high" on his priority list, he is undeniably a family man with close relationship with his parents and sister.

Romantic celebrity date nights

"I'm really close with my family," the "Gravity" star told "CBS This Morning's" Charlie Rose in May. "My sister, I'm very close to — I've got a niece and nephew. My nephew was just named prom king from the high school that I went to where I was not named (prom king)."

In June, Clooney took his wife to visit family and friends in Augusta, Ky., his small hometown of 1,180 people.

"He was really excited to introduce her to those who didn't go to the wedding or didn't know much about her," a source said at the time. "They are a loving couple and he seemed very proud."

Now, he is reportedly preparing to be a first-time dad.

"George is ready for this step and he thinks that Amal will be a great mother,"another insider told Us.

"They recently visited a fertility center," the insider added. "This is something they really want."
